Do you still have other stuff around that you traded back in or sold? Like that Fender amp, or whatever? I remember you were saying that Super Bassman was there for a long time, and you got it back at one point.

No, I'm just a one owner of the AC Jazz, the Hofner 500/1-'64, and the Markbass Mini CMD 121P Combo. That's all folks.

No problem. You don't see what I have to retype in these posts. I get a bit dyslexic at times. I'm also a class A-1 lousy typist.

In GC, my Epi Viola, Fender Player Jazz, and Ampeg 410 cab are still there. When I was at SA the other day, I saw the Ampeg head, and 212 cab I moved to them is still there. I either didn't see the SB, or it sold.

At SA though, they did have two Rickenbacker 4003's. I really didn't look close enough to see if they were 4003, or 4003S basses. I think one was Maple Glo, and I honestly don't remember the other ones finish. I'm not even looking at, or showing any interest at looking at another basses. I'm loving having a Hofner back again, replacing the one I sold off a couple of years ago. Well you know what I mean, there's something special about a Violin bass. Don't you like your Violin bass just a bit more for whatever reason?

Yeah, it does have a certain mojo to it. It's very lightweight to play, too. You could gig with it for hours, and you wouldn't even notice it. Maybe that's another reason Paul McCartney liked his, as well. As great as say a Precision sounds, you'll start to feel it after a couple of hours, unless you have a wide enough strap, which helps somewhat.

The AC Jazz weighs in at 9 pounds, and feels fine to play. I do use a wide leather rough sided strap. With that strap basses don't much at all, if any. The Hofner weighs in at 4.4 pounds. That is the identical weight, from what I remember of the original 500/1 I had. For what ever reason McCartney played, and plays a Hofner, he was a smart guy. As much as I love the Gibson SG Std. I could've bought for $800. bucks less than the Hofner, I'm glad I finally got back to a Violin Bass. The EKO Violin Bass, was my first real bass before I went with the Gibson EB-0, in mid 1970.

Have you ever bothered to look for another one of those Eko basses, or you'd rather stick with new instruments? I imagine a lot of those can be pricey these days, because of collector's markets, and a lot of times they might not even be in the best shape to begin with.

No, I close the door on that one, and will stay with the Hofner. I thought about reacquiring my Epi that's still at GC. But I don't need two Violin Basses.

Yeah, unless you were gigging at The Cavern Club, and needed a backup. That place still exists, albeit a different location.

The Epi really was a nice Viola. A larger body of course, but still a shortie. The Epi would be as close as I'd come to an EKO 995 again. I need to have funds for paying the Hofner bill. So everything is on hold.

The Epiphone has a bigger body on it?

Yep, it's a Viola size body, just the size the original Electric Lady was. the EKO 995.
I'm going to attempt to reacquire the Epi Viola tomorrow Monday morning. Image

So you decided to get it back, then?

I purchased it over the phone with GC this mid day. I'll pick it up Monday, tomorrow morning.
