I not crazy about doing the DNS without it being looked at Sweetwater. I may ask my rep to open it up just look it over. It almost sounds too good to be true at that discount

You think there might be some serious issue with it?

No, I just finished doing an order for a Hofner Vintage '64 Violin that's on a special price. I'm dropping obviously the Hofner HCT-500/1 Violin Bass order. I'm returning the Markbass NY121 cab to use as funds toward the Hofner Vin.'64.

I take it this one is different than the standard German model, since it's labeled a "'64?"

I don't know much of anything about the current 500/1 German series. The '64 is a Reissue of the '64 500/1, with its bound fretboard, and thinner neck board. I honest don't think I've seen a current German 500/1 Hofner. If I did, I may not have known it was a newie.

I just went ahead and looked on their site, and they have quite a few models of the 500/1 series, including the '61 "Cavern" series, which is what Paul McCartney's first Hofner was like, with the different pickup positions, and fretless models, too. https://www.hofner-guitars.com/guitars- ... rder=price

I went to the Hofner site as well. It's been a couple of years since I've been on it. I could have gotten the Reissue '62 500/1 for the same price as the Reissue '64 500/1, but I prefer the thinner 3 piece neck, and board on the '64. I like the binding on the '64 as well. It should be in Thursday, as it shipped a bit earlier than usual.

It seems to be going ok with the shipping from Sweetwater. They usually do ok on my orders.

So, you'll probably be getting it pretty soon, then?

It's in motion, and should be in town on a truck for delivery on Thursday. It should be out of Ohio by now in route.
