Sounds good. 8) I'm actually curious to know if this series is any improvement over the Standard ones it was supposed to replace.

I ran out of time today, but the pups could be the only visible change.

I suppose you'll find out for sure when you get to put some time into it.

I'm just waiting for the Rumble head to show, so I can give the Player a fine run.

Thanks Paul, I think so too. I said for some time now, if they put together a Standard Jazz I liked, I'd go for one. Then when I saw the Alnico V pups were on the Player series, that really got my attention. MIM Basses are looking really great also.

So, I suppose you'll have to wait for the amp for the full report, but how would you rate it in comparison to the Standard ones, previously?

Damn Sam, nothing gets past you partner. Yeah,.... I should have the Rumble this morning. It's on a local FedEx for deliveries to the Margate area. SA gets the local FedEx deliveries around 10:15 AM. I'll be there.

Yeah, like a kid at Christmas. It's kind of like that, when you get new stuff delivered. :P

Yeah,.... I picked up the Rumble, got it home, unpacked it, and hooked it up. I got out the Player, then took all of about five minutes to set. After that, I played it for just over two hours. I honestly did forget I wasn't playing an Am. Std. Jazz. NO SMOKIN' & JOKIN' ABOUT IT! The Rumble, and HLF is amazing together. The Alnico V's were, and are my favorite Fender pups on a Jazz.
I still contend the cab shape of the HLF, and the three ports below the speakers work. The ports also raise the speakers up higher above the floor level.

So, you'd say the Player series is really good stuff, then? Would you say an improvement over the Standard series, besides the pickups?

It's hard for me to judge, it's been while since I played a Standard Jazz. Bur from what I remember, the older style Standard pups were their negative point. That was the one thing most players switched out on a Standard.

Well, good sounding pickups are certainly a good starting point. The thing I'm the most curious about is the neck feel and action. That's the main thing for me, as well.
