Under the pick guard, is it solid wood, or open spaces that were cut out for whatever?

I honestly didn't take note of any other cut outs, except for the regular hole they use as a cut guide in the MIM cut bodies. Everything did look very good under the PG.

The reason I was wondering, is because sometimes you can get away with not even having a pick guard installed at all, but I guess that depends on the bass.

Most of the MIM Fenders have the CNC guide hole cut into the body.

I guess it may have to do with the difference in the CNC cutters in the Mexican facility, as compared to the American one. I would love to have the Jazz bass made without the PG as a cover, and the wires run from a back of the body cavity. That would probably cost more though.

Just a guess, I really don't know. But whatever they're doing, the MIM basses are fine.

That's good to know. They were kind of hit or miss years ago.

I have no problem what so ever buying an MIM Fender bass. Some of the cooler Fender basses are MIM's. Their QC is tops, and they do put out the sounds. Pretty much all you should have in a fine bass.

It does look like they have a lot going on for them, especially these new ones.

Some of the special run Fenders are MIM's. Damn nice basses too! The Sea foam Pearl that I just sold off, MIM.

Yeah, that seemed like a nice bass, too. That one costs more than the Player Series, didn't it?

Yeah, it did come to think of it. $900., as compared to $750. for the Player. It was a fancier bass though.

True, you did have the block inlays on it. Did that one actually come with a bag, or anything?
