Fender stated the Flea Active Jazz Bass will be available this October.

Two months passed and this model is not listed in the products page!

What's going on?

Oh yeah, I remember reading about that one. Wasn't that mentioned at the beginning of 2018, or late last year?

It looks like they are going to come out, at least in the US. I just saw this on the site I buy a lot of gear from. https://www.americanmusical.com/Item--i ... uct_txt_X2

Interesting that it has an Aguilar preamp in it.

The original has a Lane Poor humbucker.

For the production model Fender opted for a custom-wound Shawbucker pickup.

Here's a write up about in in "Bass Player" magazine. https://www.bassplayer.com/gear/fender- ... ass-active

I have to say, it does look like an interesting bass. 8)

Pity they didn't a 5-string version since Flea is also a 5-stringer.

They might down the road. You never know. That would make a good 5 string model, too.

Kinda hope they offer the Flea Active J with a rosewood neck option to match that of their passive counterpart and add another control knob for mid boost/cut with a push-pull function for midrange selection, upgrading the existing Aguilar OBP-1 preamp to the more flexible OBP-3 which offers a 3-band EQ.

Of course these features would be optional. Fender can't make changes to the specs without the artist's consent.
