Ok, I typically do not join up to forums as I can find what I need an answer for usually but this is un-usual, at least to me. Tonight when I plugged in my bass I found a note sounding very thin and almost not there. The note before and after fretwise is fine. So I decided to start from open and play every note on all strings. I found that the Gb note on all strings/frets is the same. Very thin, no definition while the note before and after is full of tonal warmth. Additionally the Db at the 18th fret of my G string is also the same (the 5th of Gb). I unplugged the bass from the Pod I use and plugged it directly into my small mixer and the same notes are thin there too. If I bend the note to the G it starts to sound out correctly. Conversely bending an F note into the Gb territory makes the note start to thin out. I tested out the P pickup by itself, same result. Testing the J pickup by itself is also the same. Unplugged all notes sound good, there is no difference in any of the Gb notes and the ones before and after tonal wise and there is no buzzing or deadening so this isn't a mechanical issue but rather an electrical one. What is this and has anyone ever experienced this before? It wasn't like this the other night but I did notice my jack nut was loose so I finger tightened it and was no problem afterwords. My bass is one of the earlier Aerodyne Jazz basses with the simple output jack before they changed the design to the strat angular metal plate style. I am using a version 2.0 Pod meant for guitar plugged in stereo to a Behringer XENY 802.

Hello !
Use the "loose nut" tool to pull it out . For example, see photo. (Plug key pattern . )
