Hi Guy's,

First post here. I have a 2016 American Standard in Olympic White, Tortoise Shell pick guard and a Maple fingerboard. I'm about to change the strings and do a set up check. I can't find the specs for the bass but assume it's similar to the latest Professional series in that the neck radius is 9.5. Can anyone confirm or advise otherwise? Thanks

I would imagine that they are about the same, especially with the same fretboard radius, and similar parts, but I couldn't 100% confirm this. It does seem like Fenders are pretty formulaic with their designs.

Hi, welcome to the Fender site. A 9.5" radius is the standard for almost all of the Fender basses. Definitely the Am. Std. series basses. There are some Fenders that use other radiuses. If you can, please post a pic of your Am. Std. We love seeing other players basses. Image

Many thanks for your replies. Good to know.
Forgive me for being a dummy but how do I post a picture of my Jazz? I can't see where and how to do it.
Cheers

Your best bet is to get an account with this: https://imgur.com (it's free, by the way,) or somewhere like this, and when you upload your pic to there, copy the direct link and post it using the IMG link feature on your message, and it should work.

Yes! You do indeed have a 9 1/2" neck radius. If you haven't found it yet, Fender has a bass set up guide with all the factory measurements you'll need for a perfect set up. Be sure to adjust your truss rod and set your neck relief first.

Thanks! I'm a bit of a Uriah Heep fan. As a 13 year old in 1970 I moved next door to Paul Newton who was their then and original bass player. He played a 68 sunburst Jazz with block inlays which he let me play and I fell in love with it. My first bass was a Fender Mustang in Diarrhea yellow with a competition stripe which I had for a few years before getting a Jazz. The American Standard I now have is a beauty. Check out the aforementioned Paul Newton giving it a go. Image

That's a good one. My all time favorite for an Am. Std. Jazz. Olympic White with Maple.
