Dear Fender and Forum-Readers

I'm trying to find out, why the Flea-Bass ist around 300 Euros cheaper than the 60s Road Worn Jazz.
Apart from the better pickups, the stacked-knobs, the Special colour and as an "Artist"-Instrument, it should be more expensive, shouldn't it?

But why is it cheaper? Cheaper production/Quality?

Thanks for your answers,
Mörgolino

It lists on the Fender US site at $100usd more.
Could be low sales in Europe.

Hi all

Thanks CB91710 für your Response.

According to Fender it should not be a theme of Quality. The Instruments (should) be identical in this regard.
It's also a question of "offer and demand" (can I say that in english...?) :-)
People in Europe seem to like more the RW than the Flea.

Greetings,
Mörgolino

Exactly. "Supply and Demand"
When a manufacturer has an excess inventory, they need to reduce the price to sell it.
Likewise, something that is very popular, they can increase the price and still sell it.
Demand for Artist signature models is going to change with the relative popularity of the artist.

Flea Active Jazz Bass with a powerful single humbucking pickup fueled by an active 2-band, 18V Aguilar OBP-1 preamp. Available in Shell Pink and Inca Silver, it will be shipping in October with a street price of $1,699.99.

Looks like a Modulus bass dressed in a Fender suit....
