Find the live album from the Hollywood Bowl... they couldn't even hear themselves. I don't know if there was a problem with their monitors or if they simply didn't have monitors because the venue was traditionally "stage mixed"

No clue here. You figure they would've had a better chance than at Shea Stadium though. Shea wasn't intended for sound.

Well, tomorrow is another day. Sometimes, I might go a day or so without playing.

That seems to happen around my place a bit more too. The Am. Pro. has me playing it quite a bit more than I anticipated, when I first acquired it. It really does have a nice mellow, deep tone to it.

You're starting to like it more than the Geddy Lee?

No, it's still not to the grade I rank the USA Geddy Lee at. But it is a better Am. Jazz than I thought it was going to be. The USA GL has the heavier 60's / 70's sound. The Pro. is more of an all around mellow bass that's great for every day playing. Jazzes sound ok through a tube head, and 12's. 8)

I suppose it all depends on the particular tone you're looking for.

The USA GL Jazz would be my go to Jazz for live playing. The damn bass roars going through the Ampeg setup. The Am. Pro. Jazz, an excellent studio bass. Just like the Am. Std. was. I still had no issues with the Am. Std. series.

How's the Mustang doing with both of those?

It's doing great. I like playing it when I feel like an old man. The light weight is cool. The sound is kinda' close to the Jazzes in a way.

Plus, the short scale gives you a break with less real estate to traverse. I certainly noticed the difference after the last time I played the Precision, after playing the violin bass for so long. My arm and hand was aching because I got used to the smaller neck.

That's what I like about the Mustang, and the Jazzes. The necks feel to me pretty close, as compared to a Precision. The wider nut, and board just feel to large.

Yeah, it does have more of a stretch to it. I'll say that a Jazz has a thin enough neck to where it's comparable to a short scale bass, except longer.

That's basic difference I like about my two Jazzes, and the Mustang PJ. Like you just said, The 1.5" @ the nut, and the 9.5" radius are the same. Just the 30" compared to the 34" Jazzes. All three necks are variation C necks. Close enough on that point as well. And with the three all being Fenders, the electronics do somewhat match up.

The next time I do a long playing session, I should play the Squier Jazz and see how it effects me, since I'm used to the short scale now.
