They also make bass specific speakers, with more power handling, as well. Before, they had some that they say you can use for bass, or guitar. General purpose, I suppose. They still have those, so there's some options for them.

I was looking at a new Fender Twin Reverb a week ago, and it had 2 Jensen 12's in it.

Yeah, I think they still equip Jensens in a lot of Fender amps. The tubed guitar ones, at least.

That's great to see an older speaker still being used.

Yeah, I suppose that goes to show you how good they must be, if they are still around and being used like they are. That, and they didn't get bought out by some company and get tanked.

Yes to all of the above about Jensens.

I suppose if you want Jensen bass speakers, you have to put them in yourself, since it seems that most bass cabs are usually equipped with Eminence speakers.

I'd need to research which amps don't use Eminence, other than MarkBass, and Hartke of course.

I'm pretty sure that back in the day Trace Elliot had their own proprietary speakers that if memory serves right were made out of Kevlar. It could run your bass and stop a bullet.

Oh yeah, I remember those. That was another amp from back in the day.

Hartke uses Kevlar on parts of their HyDrive speakers.

I suppose they'd hold up pretty well, then.

Kevlar is a pretty strong material.

It's what they use in for armored vests, isn't it?

From what I remember Peavy bought them out. When that happened 2 of their main designers quit and started Ashdown and brought some of the big players who were playing Trace at the time like Mark King and John Entwistle with them. I have one of the LoMenzo Hyperdrive pedals that I love. What makes it cool is that it filters the mids and distorts them while leaving the highs and lows clean.
