PJ's do make a lot of sense for playing.

They do cover a good tonal range, I think.

Yes they do. A great full tone as well.

I like the way the Jazz pickup expands the tone of the Precision one, although sometimes, I'd just only add a little of it, but that was the Precision Bass Lyte, since that was an active bass. For some reason, I preferred mostly the Precision pickup on that one, but the rest of them, I've just ran both wide open so far.

My Jazz pup is usually equal too, or just a number or two below the Precision pup. I probably should've hung onto that Am. Std. Ltd. Edition PJ I had. Oh well.

Yeah, I remember that one. That was a cool bass. Did you sell that one, or trade it in for another bass?

Good question. I think if I remember correctly I sold it. That was a decent Jazz. Another one of those nice MIM basses.

I just think it's amazing that you were even able to reacquire some of the gear that you once had. I've never seen again anything I've ever sold off or traded in.

It is somewhat. I've seen basses that we're mine still around for a while at SA. My Ebony Epiphone EB-3 was one that's been around. They had, or have it priced out ok. I lost track if it's still hanging on the wall there.

You didn't have that one too long, did you? I vaguely even remember you even having that one.

I felt to heavy, and bulky. It wasn't too comfortable to play either.

The EB-0 version felt pretty nice, from what I remember, but that one was smaller, because of the short scale neck. I don't remember it being too heavy, but then again I was playing it sitting down. I just remember liking the feel of it more than anything. Another one of those Epiphone that I really liked the feel of, which was surprising, considering the shape, was the Thunderbird. I actually picked up one of those and played on it standing up, and it was quite accessible, especially the neck. Maybe there was something to that cutaway shape. I thought it would have been weird, since I've typically played on Precision or Jazz type shapes, but it wasn't.

True, the Epi EB3 is a 34" long scale. I prefer to stand up when I try out a bass any more. Just more like I play at home, standing.

Pretty much the only time I stand, is when I'm either in full rehearsal, or doing some sort of show/performance thing. The office that I'm in, which I have the Fender amp, and my computer, is extremely small, so it would be kind of impractical to stand, unless I take out the chair. It certainly makes the short scale basses more convenient for me, too. When I was testing out the Ampeg, I was standing, but that amp's not hooked up in here. I just hooked it up in the dining room, when I got it. I thought about hooking it up in the living room, when I'm watching a movie, instead of just playing unplugged. I still haven't plugged the Jazz Bass into it, yet. The problem is that I'm playing on other stuff, and haven't been thinking about it, until an inconvenient time, and the fact it's stored in a room on a different floor of the house, so out of sight, out of mind, for the most part.

In that scenario, I'm able to a bit of room to move around in. Not much but enough so everything is kept in the room.
