I've never purged into the stereo jack on the 4003.

From what I understand, Chris Squire utilized that, with plugging one jack into an Ampeg SVT stack, and the other into a Marshall stack. I'm not too sure he was using any Ampeg stuff in the 60's, though. I'm sure there was Marshall, at least. I'd have to look that up, but that's one person that I know of that used that. I wonder if anyone has ever tried that with another bass? Wire it up for stereo, with another jack. I just thought about that when I was writing back, and looked at your Jazz Bass pic. Imagine wiring up a Jazz like that. For some reason, I can imagine that would be one of the likely candidates for that experiment.

Ya' never can tell. I have enough complications with just one jack.

I'm not sure, but I also think you were supposed to use some sort of special cable with it, too. I really don't know much about that. I suppose if I ever manage to get a Ric, I'll at least have enough amps to try it out.

Yes, I know that much about it. A stereo cord is needed to use the "Rick-O-Sound".

So, it wouldn't work with just two cables plugged into it?

No, the configuration of the bass jack, and the cable jack are different than the standard 1/4" jack.

Do they even still have those cables available?

Yes, as far as I know they are still available. Maybe not over the counter. I'm guessing that Ric sells them as a part.

I would hope so, otherwise that would be a useless feature.

I wonder how many people that have actually used that feature? You ever see any do that with a Ric in your travels?

Not that I remember.
I ran the 4003 today. With some slight adjustments, the Ric sounded as good or better than the Jazz. I'm thinking the settings may really work well with the Jazz as well. I don't think I've heard this 4003 sound as fine as it does. This setup suits it well. And I still do believe this 4003 does have a better sound than previous ones I've had. Sounds crazy, but there's just something to this one.

Yeah, I think you might have actually got one that really is for you. I know you've kept it for a long time now, at least about the longest you've held on to a bass since I've known you.

The only other 4003 I had even close to this Jetglo, was the 4003 Ruby. The USA GL is close to the 4003 for me having it too. Like I stated before though, what a surprise the 4003 plays as wells it does through the 800 / HLF setup.

Your PF800 / Rumble should do the same for you as well, I would think anyway. Image
