It was good for me at that time, so no complaints from this old man.

Not on the subject, but what is with you, and myself,........... If you even think you're in the market for a decent, solid amp, with balls to it, check out the Hartke TX600. Hell, even with an 8 0hm cab, it's 450 watts with a good EQ, and headphones.

That sounds pretty good. It's a pretty powerful head, then?

Very much so. A great simple EQ on it also. If I do change out the SVT-410 for a Hartke HyDrive HD210, I can still get 450 watts out of an 8 ohm cab.

You think a 2 x 10" cab will be good enough for you? They can be sometimes inefficient on their own, especially with the low end. Then again, there are some cabs that can be used like that.

Yes Paul, I agree that a 2X10 cab is more than I almost need. I'm hoping the HD210 will yield enough bass. The aluminum HyDrive has had me very interested in a multiple driver cab.

I guess you'll find out soon enough. I have to say, I find the concept of those speakers interesting. I've played through their all aluminum speaker cabs, and liked what I heard at the time. The reason I never got one was the Fender was cheaper, and it's a heavier cab. They even charge for shipping on it at AMS, which they don't with most of the other cabs, or at least 4 x 10" ones.

The aluminum cone is supposed to give the bass tones a good low, with clarity.

Yeah, they certainly do have a punch to them, as well. I do remember that. I was also running them with a Gallien Kruger 800RB head. The whole thing was the house backline to some club in NYC, many moons ago.

The 210 cab was in stock in the SA North Miami store, new in the box. I made the deal at the Margate store, and drove down to the North Miami store. I thought it was better than waiting till tomorrow to pick it up at Margate, after it was store transferred from the North Miami store.

Sounds good. 8) At least you got one new in the box, so you know it hasn't been messed with in any way.

Yep. That was a nice acquisition from SA. The two stores, Margate, and North Miami worked well to accommodate my purchase. I helped them out a bit by my picking up the Hartke cab from North Miami, so they didn't have to physically transfer it. Before I accepted it, I uncrated it at the North Miami store. I looked perfect, and I was able to leave the empty carton there. No hassles from anyone at either store. Just a really nice way to do business. 8)
A few years ago I had a MarkBass 102P cab. So I kinda' knew somewhat to expect with the Hartke.

Very good deal, then. 8) Also, you don't have to mess with breaking down any boxes, and getting little pieces of Styrofoam over your carpet. :P

The Hartke packing is the pressed hard carinated board corners. Any way you look at it, like you said it's nice not to have to breakdown the carton. It's fine deal for my playing anymore. Just a real nice compact head, and cab.

That's good it doesn't have that Styrofoam stuff. That crap makes such a mess.

You betcha'! When I picked it up by the carrying handle on the right side, it felt nice, and light.
