As I get older, the thought of sitting in a rocking chair, on a porch, with a shot gun sounds damn good. Or maybe an HK USP .40 Compact Pistol.

I suppose that does have it's advantages, to where you'd have your own land and do what ever, but I like the activity of a city to where everything is around you, especially some sort of music scene. I guess there's pros and cons to anywhere you might live, though. It depends on what you really want to spend most of your time doing.

The Ric played through the Fender / Ampeg today. Outstanding. It has a bit of a Precision sound to it, I think anyway. Very good!

The 410's seem to give a fuller sound. More punch!

I've noticed that 10"s can do that.

They're more responsive. Maybe even more responsive than 12" are. The deep punch is what's impressing me.

Yeah, they do have that, and with the 4 x 10" configuration, you have more speaker area. I guess those dweebs over at TB were actually on to something. :P

Yeah, I never thought I'd like 10"s, since I had mainly used 15" speakers for most of my playing career, but using the 4 x 10" configuration really seems to work. I've used 2 x 10" cabs to supplement with either 15" or that 18" cab, but they were weak on their own, and that gave me doubts on how effective they could be. But in hindsight, I realize the one factor was these 2 x 10" cabs were Carvins, and they aren't the best speakers, to be honest. I guess they are cheap for a reason, but not really, when you think of the shipping costs and other pain in the arse things that went with buying from them. I can see why they went out of the amp business. Of course, if I had posted this over at TB, the fanboys would be foaming at the mouth in droves. :P That's another reason I quit posting at that place. People get too hung up on crap.

I think there is something to the amp's configuration that either helps, or hurts the performance of any speakers. I'm very favorable to the cab designs of the Acoustic 361 cab, and the Ampeg SVT-410HLF cab.

I'll bet they have a similar design construction. They both were designed with bass in mind, instead of an afterthought with a mainly guitar amp company.

There might be some design schematics around somewhere, but who knows where or there are? That would be interesting to see, though.

There could be, but all I can testify to, the sounds putout from them.
