Did you do any guitar or bass tech work when you were on the road, or did you just deal with moving the equipment in and out of places?

I didn't have the time to get into the tech work. A couple of the other guys did that. There was to much going on with the logistics of getting to a location, get the gear in, set up, sound checks, meeting with the building managers, etc.

Yeah, there's plenty of things to go around for more than one person to take care of.

Speaking of strings, I love the new Dunlop flats. I don't need to break them in at all. Very smooth, and low tension. I think I might be switching to these now. 8)

Alright with the Flats!!! If you have a brand, and a type of string that plays well for you, that's great! Flats do have an exceptional feel to them. Not to mention equally the sounds they can put out.

Yeah, they're really great feeling strings. I might even go as far to say some of the best flats I've tried, so far. The last time that I've had flats that felt like that out of the package, which I remember, were some really light gauge Fender flats that I picked up at Wagon Wheel Flea Market in Florida, back in the early days of playing, within the first couple of years. I don't even think they've made them like that since then, or changed the manufacturer, from what I've heard. I know the packaging has changed a few times over the years, at least. I know a flea market is an odd place to find bass strings, but some dude had them at that time period. I wonder if Wagon Wheel is still around? Maybe you might have heard of it, even though it was more located in my neck of the woods down there? It was a big place.

I don't recall hearing of it. It may've been more of a local happening. OOpps. The 60's coming out a bit there. Back then, things were happenings.

If I weren't using Nylons, Flats for sure.

Far out, man! Image :P

Yeah, they did, or do have flea markets all over that state, anyhow. Maybe if you were on that coast. I don't even remember what town or city it's in. It's a bit out from St. Pete, or where I lived.

Maybe Tampa? There used to be the Thunderbird Flea Market, at the Thunderbird Drive-In, in Fort Lauderdale. I think it's still there. It was a real big one.

I just looked it up, and it's in Pinellas Park, which is between St. Petersburg, and Clearwater. They're still around. http://thewagonwheelfleamarket.com

Just like Dania on the east coast, between Fort Lauderdale, and Hollywood. Image

I've never heard of that place, but there's probably a ton of places like that all over Florida. I'll bet they have a Walmart, though. :P That's always a given.

Pretty much so. I don't mind Walmart at all. Their product lines have been getting better quality to them. Florida's a pretty big state, and there's a bunch of little towns, and cities.

Yeah, I go to Walmart all of the time, as well. I've even used their website and had stuff shipped to the store to pickup. I suppose that's one thing, if you are in the middle of nowhere, and there's a Walmart around, you also have that as an option. You can even get music gear that way, with affiliated shops on their site. I've ordered bass strings like that. I guess as long as you have internet, you're not completely isolated. I'd certainly want to always live in a city, though. I can't really deal with being in the boonies. :P
