Sometimes, you still wind up getting into trouble, even though you might know better, at least I might have.

The same here. You're not alone on this one Paul.

Since I previously mentioned this here, I've decided to go ahead and get the Dunlop short scale flats for the Ibanez bass. I have to wait for some extra cash to come in, but then I'll order them from AMS.

Flats are good strings. I liked using them on Fender fretless Jazzes, and Hofner Violins. I know I've said, if for whatever reason I was going to stop using Nylons, Flats would be my go to strings, no questions asked.

I like them for the fact they aren't as noisy with the fingers moving around, and the warmer tone, especially when they break in. I'm curious to see how much tension the Dunlops will have, compared to the Rotosounds, too. If I wind up really liking them, I'll just completely switch over, since they are easier to get, because AMS carries them, and I don't have to do business with companies I rather not, which I would with the Rotosounds, since they seem to be the only places that carries those now.

I used the D'Addario Chrome Flats, and I thought they worked ok for my usage. Flats in general are a great string design.

AMS carries those as well, but I'm keen on trying the Dunlops, since they're pretty new on the market, I think.

Dunlop, from what I've heard, turns out some good products. I would assume their strings to be fine as well.

Well, I'll find out as soon as I get the extra funds to pick up a set, which should be pretty soon.

OK, I ordered the Dunlop strings this evening from AMS, and they should be here this coming Tuesday. 8)

Outstanding. The Ibanez should play well with the Flats. A bit easier on the frets, and the fretboard as well. Image

Yeah, and a lot less string noise, too.

Less of the string noise is what I like from Flats, or Nylons also.

Easier on the fingers, too. Although, I've actually gotten a bit used to the rounds, as far as that goes.
