07 MIJ Geddy Lee Jazz - Loose tuning machines

Evening all - I recently purchased an ‘07 MIJ Geddy Lee Jazz Bass, am in love with all except the tuning machines - two of the 4 are exceptionally loose, and while it holds tune well having to constantly tune up is getting old fast. I disassembled them and aside from being loose all is well. They do not have any spring washers in them - are they supposed to have washers, of any type, or were they originally not included on this model? And what is the recommended fix; I want to keep it stock if at all possible - love it, dig my Fenders, thanks for any input and help! Cheers!

The link you posted doesn't work.
Looks like you have an extra letter at the beginning

I fixed it for you, buddy.
:D

Bit the bullet and purchased new tuning machines from AllParts, they guaranteed the fitment to be correct - hope to install them in the net couple of days - and thanks for the video clip but no, not that simple a fix :) the machines will not hold in place.... so while I can tune up, and it will "hold" tune for a while, not as it should. I'm sure this will solve the problem - thanks :)

It is not the nut ? Did you check it ? Most of the time it is the nut or someting else but not the tuning machines.

Report with new tuning machines
