Hey, I was wondering if anyone could tell me what are good eq settings for a warm bass tone (Not too much treble but not shaking) on my Fender Standard Jazz Bass. I have a Fender Rumble 60 amp. Thanks.

Hey Mate
Right I don't generally use Fender amps
I always use a quite high mid for the majority of the genres I'm playing as it gives a real clarity to the sound and individual notes, so your audience will always be able to hear you notes even if your not playing staccato.
For a warm bass tone in E tuning I would put your high and low mid both level just more than 3/4's of the way round, this I would combine with the bass around the same. But be careful the tone isn't too heavy on the E string. I would also raise the treble very slightly past halfway just to make sure the extra bass doesn't make your notes blur into each.
Hope this is some help to you.
Nick
xx

I always start with a flat eq and then add or substract bass, mid and treble depending on the venue . But with my jazz bass and the 2x10 cab that I use I leave the bass and mids freqs flat and just substract treble freqs little by little until I get the sound that I like . Remember that eq depends on the equipment that you use . The eq settings on the same head but different cabs wont be the same . For a warm sound less treble more bass and mids .You can also get a warm sound with your fingers depending on where you pluck and the way you pluck the strings . Practice makes perfect . Record yourself and listen to it so that you know what youre doing .

cut the 'highs' and boost the 'lows'...or play around with the settings until you find what you want...this ain't rocket science.
