Bass is less than a month old thats why this bothers me, and it was also a mishap that was completely avoidable. I was being lazy and banged it on the metal part of footrest of a recliner while removing it from the case.

There is a professional luthier near me (Jack Romano) that I was told could fix this.

My question is, when done by a pro, how noticeable will this reparied area be? I know it won't be a 100% match, but something that doesn't stick out like a sore thumb is ok with me.

Don't worry about it! Silly little dings is what makes an instrument yours and yours alone. Love it as it is. You did it, and you should love it. As a matter of fact you should go and ding it again. Just to show how much you love it.

Hi, haven't been on here for a while.
I agree with linnen. Let it be.
If you were to dent a piece of raw wood (unfinished), you could steam the dent out with a damp towel and an iron. It will pop right up.
Once wood is finished it's a different story.
I don't think you can pull that dent up without marring the finish and that's why I would leave it be.

Happy playing, Jim

Battle scars - :) I'd leave it be - character, makes it yours!

Sorry the pic isn't showing on your post of it so I can't tell how bad it is. If it is that distracting then a good luthier can usually match it up so well its virtually unnoticeable. Good luck with it if you go that route :) Cheers'!
