I remember you saying that. I won't have to worry about it until I actually start gigging with it, though. I'll try out both of them. I'm hoping the case I use for the violin bass will work, because it will take up less space in the vehicle. You know, maybe I'll try it out tomorrow, before I put some bass time in. It will only take a minute to see.

It's worth having it in a case though.

Yeah, especially when you travel.

Yeah, especially if you want to keep them in one piece. :P Oh, speaking of cases, before I got into playing the Ibanez today, I put it into the case that I had for the violin bass, and it fits really well. Actually, even better than the violin bass, since it's not as thick of a body, and not archtop, like the violin bass is. So, I'll be using that one, and I don't have to worry about bringing along that bigger case, unless of course, I'm back to using some sort of long scale bass again.

That's great that you have a case that works for more than one bass.

Yeah, unless it gets to the point that I'll need to transport more than one bass, then I'll have to figure that one out. I don't even have a case for that Ibanez acoustic bass, but that thing is so small (it has a guitar length scale to it,) a regular acoustic guitar case or bag should probably work. That's if I even wind up using the damned thing.

Yeah, sometimes you can score pretty good deals on cases or bags, though. I guess the one thing I've always had an issue with on cases, is a lot of them cost even more than what I'm going to put in them, and how do I even justify that, other than I guess the protection, and ease of carry? Sure, if I bought basses that cost over $1000, I'd want a case, but usually instruments in those price ranges will come with one. Although, Fender and Gibson can and do have a tendency to cheap out on that, sometimes, with some crappy gig bag, instead. I guess $1000 doesn't go as far as it used to for instruments these days.

Back in the day, you would have gotten a case for that.

For that much cash, I'd hope so. I don't see why not now, but I guess a $1,000. or higher in some instances does't rate a case. For a while, the Gibson Faded SG Std. basses came with a case. And I think they were $700. plus.

Yeah, they had a pretty good deal with those. You know, I thought if I could afford a bass that was a short scale and on the higher end, it might have been a Gibson like the SG bass they have now, or some older variant, if possible, like the EB ones. But then you were saying you thought the Epiphone ones were better, so who knows about that? Not that I could even get one right now, anyway.

I sure didn't mind the Epi for it's price as compared to the $1500. Gibson SG Std.

That's true. You could buy like three of the Epiphones for the price of the Gibson.
