The only thing that Ibanez said on their site about the pickups is that they're called Dynamix, but in trying to figure anything about those, I did find out that Bartolini makes the majority of pickups for Ibanez, or at least they seem to. That doesn't really tell me much, but I will say the bass does sound pretty good, so I suppose that's what matters in the end.

By the way, I was recording the other day, and I soloed the Precision style pickup on it, in an attempt to get some sort of a Precision Bass sound with it. I know it's not an actual Fender, but I think it sounds pretty good. I've been also playing it like that, through the Fender amp, as well. I do have to say, it is a strong sounding pickup on it, whatever it is.

I do like the neck and the way the bass plays, but I've never tried the long scale version of it, which they do offer in several variations, with all of them having active EQ's on them, which most Ibanez basses have. They even have one that has a maple fretboard on it, which is pretty cool.

It would be nice to know what magnets are used in them. Not important though.

That's true. I suppose I could contact Ibanez and ask them, but I guess it's not a big deal, as long as it works and sounds good.

Good idea. Give them a ring, and see what they say. You're right too, it's no big deal if it sounds good.

Yeah, I might just do that, if I remember to do so. Sometimes, I get sidetracked with other stuff that's going on.

I know what you mean about other things going on. This damn Dorian storm had me all tied up for a bit.

Yeah, that did look really bad. I guess you did get lucky with that one, considering. The Bahamas on the other hand got FUBAR'd really bad.

That's true, but the season isn't over yet, unfortunately. You got to make sure you have enough water, canned goods, and especially ammo, because people like to get a little too bold when $@!& hits the fan during these sort of things, and they might want something you have more than you do, and the cops aren't exactly going to be around.

So the Ibanez is serving you well? Funny how you're pretty much set with a short scale Ibanez now, and I'm set on the long scale Jazz again. No more short scale playing for me.

Yeah, it's been playing great, and I've used it for recording, with just the P pickup on it, and not the J one. Somehow, I've managed to get a decent Precision Bass tone that way. Obviously, it's not going to be exactly the same, but pretty darn close. If I can't have a Precision, might as well make do with what I do have. Plus, I really like the neck on it, and with Ibanez in general. They might seem a little wide, but they're flat, and usually pretty fast. Someday, I'd like to try out the full scale version of the Talman, and see if there's a lot of difference to it.

Damn Sam, the Ibanez sounds great for your sound needs. Sometimes if people don't see what you're playing in a studio, you tell them it's from a Precision, and they say, that sounds great. I got that one from Felix one time.
