Yeah, OF COURSE they had to put out another Mustang Bass, when I am interested in the Precision, just to make things interesting. :P You know, that's another one that I've liked, and I'm already doing the short scale thing. That Jaguar Bass looked interesting, too, but I already have a bunch of P and J pickup basses.

I'm glad it's one less thing I have to think about changing out, my Jazz Bass. There are a lot fine bass out now, and coming out. I just like being back with Fender Jazz, with a Maple fretboard, and Alnico 5 pups.

That's the thing, if you get something that has all of the ideal ingredients, then that's what matters. I've had basses that had the sound I liked or was looking for, but you know how that goes. Then again, what I thought might have sounded like the ultimate thing when I was 24 and playing for 8 years, might not translate as well when I'm 47 and playing for about 31 years now, come August. Woah, where did those 23 years in between go? :P

The years do seem to slide by un-noticed at times. I'm digging the Fender Buttercream with the Maple too. Image

It does look pretty good. 8) You know, I'm glad Fender has been upping their game lately with the new stuff out, between that, and the Squier stuff. It's actually got my interesting going again in the brand, especially with the Squier stuff, because that's more attainable for my broke arse. :P Seriously though, it's pretty decent stuff, and it looks like they've improved it from what I've have, or had. You know, if I can't manage to do a Players Series, there's that. At least there's all kinds of options now. 8)

Fender does seem to be getting things in order for the future basses. I'm not getting into trouble with even looking at the amps for some time. The Hartke Amps are keeping my interests. I'm not buying any of those either. I was very fortunate to get the Player, since I sold off the AC Jazz, that I may not have had to sell. But things worked out the way they did.

That's good that you were able to get the set up you did, and it worked out. Plus, it didn't cost a lot of money, either. 8)

Like I said before, I may not have had to have sold off the AC Jazz, but I'm more than satisfied with this Player Jazz. It's a good thing about the cash, it almost came down to the dollar of what I had to apply for everything going. Amp, and Jazz.

Yeah, but you didn't have an amp when you had the AC bass. Could you have managed to get one if you didn't sell it?

Yes, I didn't think about selling my .45 pistol until I needed to get the Player Jazz. I screwed up. It happens. That's ok though, the Player is great!

Well, like they say, $@!& happens. I'd say you made out pretty good. You got a nice rig going on now. 8)

Yes Paul, I really do. I'm not bitching a bit. Things did actually work out better than I thought they were going too. Like I've mentioned before, my Player Jazz is right up there with the Am. Std.'s I've had in the past. Love that Maple fretboard on it, and the Alnico 5's too.

You know, the best part about that, is you didn't have to pay the price for an American Standard, either. 8) That's always cool when you get good stuff cheap, or cheaper in price.

Even at a used price, the Am. Std. can maybe be $900. plus. In that case, it would've been out of my price range. The Player really did work at the optimum time. A Standard Series Jazz would've been fine for me to go with.

You know, not to get GAS going or whatever, they also have a new Player Series fretless Jazz out, as well. I remember a couple of years ago you were playing on a fretless. Have you even seen those around or checked them out?
