I'm going to be picking up a Butterscotch / Maple, Sterling Ray24CA bass next Monday. A long scale Active / Passive. A Jazz size nut, and neck. Also, a major league Humbucking on it too.

That's cool. 8) I never thought you'd be interested in a Music Man type bass, especially since they're usually active. I take it you found one you liked and decided on something totally different than what you usually play?

Had two back in mid to later 2014. A fretless Ray34CAFL, and a MM Sting Ray34.

I'm hoping the TSA Gator Case will accommodate the Ray24CA. I'm thinking it should though, it's a pretty generic hardshell case.

I don't remember those. Maybe you had those at the time when I was between forums. I had quit here with the old account, if you remember and there was that whole thing with that other forum, with that one guy who pissed us both off. There were a few time lapses when we weren't chatting anywhere, or you were here and I wasn't, and vice versa.

That would be good if it did. That way you don't have to worry about a case.

Absolutely! I really am wishful thinking it will though.

It's a standard size case, right?

Yes it is. About, or the same as the Fender TSA case they use for P & J basses. It should be fine for the Sting Ray.

I have a feeling it should fit, especially since I think the headstock might be a tad bit smaller on it, or it looks that way to me. By the way, when are you getting it?

I agree that it should fit. Yes, the head is a bit more compact than a Fender. I just so happen to have a set of ETB92 Nylons to string on it.
This coming Monday is the soonest I can make it down to the store to pick it up. The manager is holding it off of the floor for me. At least now, I'm down to six days instead of seven to get down to pick it up.

Sounds good. 8) I'm assuming the model you are getting is the one you have a pic of then? I know they make a few different finishes for those. I have to say, I like that yellow type finish, especially with the maple board. It's strange, I've never thought much about yellow as a color preference, other than that.

The Fender Player Jazz / Buttercream / Maple Is officially on hold. They did a price adjustment for me, so I could do the deal for it over the Sterling. Image

Sounds good. 8) You can't go wrong with a good Jazz, anyway. Good you got a deal on it.
