Yes, it sure can be. This is the first issue I can remember with an online order from Sweetwater.

I guess it can happen. It certainly did to me, when I got one of those Squier Bass VI guitars when they first came out. AMS took care of it, though. No issue there.

It's a PITA having to send back a problemed bass back. In a way, it's almost a good thing to have a local store that's in conjunction with the online site the bass was ordered from. Usually you can take it into the store, instead of shipping it.

Yeah, that does help. Luckily, we have a UPS store down the road that's easy to do business with, and AMS has good customer service to deal with any issues, so it wasn't too bad to deal with. It just sucked it happened in the first place. It was a bummer that it was screwed up like that.

I use a local FedEx Ship Store that's close to my place. I use it to get the Sweetwater shipments delivered there, in place of the front door at the house.

We have one of those, as well, but it's further away from the house. We have used them for certain things, though.

I have a UPS Store very close to the house, but I don't like using UPS, and Sweetwater primarily uses FedEx.

You know, I'm not even sure what AMS uses for their deliveries. I know they're fast as hell to get stuff here, though.

Do they maybe have a distribution location fairly close to you?

They have three from what their site says. Their main building is in New Jersey, which really isn't that far from here. Image

That's good. Do you get charged a sales tax on an order from AMS?

Yeah, they did the last time I ordered from them, which was the Ibanez Talman bass. They didn't before that, so I don't know what's up with that. Maybe it's some new law in Rhode Island, or whatever.

It very well could be a new tax law they implemented recently. Or at least some time from your last order with them.
