Yeah, I returned it for a credit on my card toward the Mini CMD 121P. The Viola was the odd bass out so to speak. It defrayed about half of the cost of the Mini CMD 121P. If I had to have the decision of which bass to keep between the Viola, and the Player Jazz, the Player Jazz is staying right where it's at. Not only because it's a Jazz, it really is a better made, playing bass.

Yeah, and that's usually your main style, anyway. I suppose you never know if it will come back around or not, though. The funny thing with you, which I always thought was interesting, since this never happened to me, is that you've wound up with the exact same stuff that you had in the past. I've never seen anything I got rid of ever again.

That's very true about just as luck would have it, for reacquiring my former gear. I guess I've worked around gear for to long in my life. I knew too many people along the way as well.

That's true, you do have people you know and can deal with.

Yeah, but it's slowed down. And that's ok. Sometimes things worked the way they did, because I moved on things quickly. Or took a chance on it. Good, or bad.

Yeah, there is a certain amount of luck, and being at the right place at the right time that can be part of it, as well.

That Paul, is so true. At times, anyway. Some of my stuff I was able to reacquire, I guess because no one else wanted it, knew what it was, or was lost in the stock room. For whatever reason it was still around.

I guess it also depends on what's really popular where you're located. If everyone's into Precision Basses, then that's what would probably move the most, or something like that.

I'm contemplating getting a low to mid priced Hofner. I want to try some out if, and when they are in some local SA, or GC's. Sweetwater has some listings of Hofners that look pretty decent. Hofner HCT-500/1 Contemporary Violin Bass - Sunburst w/ Case looks cool.

I've heard they weren't too bad, either. I guess check them out and see what you think.

I'm going to start to do just that. I do know I'm not going to replace the German Hofner I had, with an other one of those. Getting rid of the German Hofner I had, was the biggest screw up in 51 years I did playing bass. That was the Ultimate bass I should have adjusted my playing to. ImageImageImage

I'm realizing not every bass has the feel, or playability of a Jazz. I also have to adjust my style of playing too that particular bass. What works well for the Jazz, may not be the same as for a Hofner for instance. There may be a Hofner HCT-500/1 Contemporary Violin Bass - Sunburst, in my future. If I do go the Hofner way, I'd go with Sweetwater again. It would be the best way to select the one from stock I'd prefer, and not have a Florida sales tax to deal with.

Well, usually when you say that there is something in the future, you do wind up with it, so I suspect I'll be seeing that pretty soon. :P You know, Rhode Island did or is going to pass some law to where they charge sales tax on internet purchases now, so that's a moot point for me about that sort of thing. The last time I ordered from AMS, they charged me RI sales tax, I know that much.

I've been thinking about getting a Warwick Steve Bailey Streamer as a companion to my Steve Bailey Jazz. Maybe set it up more like a "Lead Bass" with light strings, low action and possibly a MIDI pickup for recording/sequencing since I really am not a keyboardist.
