Well, at least they have a lot of options that aren't very expensive these days, and there's always the used market, which of course, has it's pros and cons with it.

If and when I have a few bucks for that, I'll take a good look around. I would just like to get a small combo, for the room here. What I had in the past is gone. I still have the AC Jazz, if nothing else.

I suppose you can say that you still have a really decent bass, so that's half the battle, there. If you have an old school stereo with a mic jack, you can plug into that, more or less. You know, I've done that in the past, to see if I could, and it does work, but you have to be careful of putting too much bass into it, unless the speakers can really handle it. I've also made a portable bass amp with a boombox I had, by doing that. It actually worked, but I couldn't really crank it too high, and had to EQ it a bit to keep the speakers from buzzing too badly.

Back in the day, you could go to Radio Shack, and get stuff to rig up for an amp. Now, amps are so cheap, that would be pointless, if that still even existed. You have stuff like Behringer which is dirt cheap, or an old Peavey that's even cheaper, and usually well made. It's not probably going to sound as good as an Ampeg, or Fender, but it's something that will move some air at least.

From the way it's looking now, the AC Jazz may be used for a Epi Viola, and the Markbass Combo.

So, you want to give the Epiphone another shot? I'm sure they aren't all with that issue, like the last one.

My friend found one that's mint. Yes, I trust his opinion on this Epi Viola. So, yep the Epi Viola is getting another shot.

Well, other than that issue, I remember you saying it was a nice bass. I think sometimes you can get a lemon, and not all of them will be like that.

With that one, I think it was just that.

Yeah, that can happen with pretty much with anything, I suppose. Especially, when you add the human equation to it. Someone's having an off day, or simply doesn't give a crap at that particular time, that sort of thing.

I bought that one sight seen over the Sweetwater Gallery. That's an okay way to purchase, but it's not totally perfect. Not the same as eyeballing it, and holding it in you in your hands.

That's true. It can be a gamble like that.

The AC Jazz was nice, but I don't miss it. It served its purpose for getting me into the Epi, and the Markbass. As nice of a bass aa the AC Jazz was, it really wasn't doing me any good without an amp to power it. I really do like the Epi / Markbass combination.

Well, at least you had the option to be able to get rid of it to get a bass and an amp, and especially really decent ones, as well. Maybe things will improve some day and you'll be able to get another one, if you want, or whatever else. You never know what the future holds, but at least you have that. 8)
