I think they got a last minute roll back. The thing is that even the higher end USA Fenders could've been effected since nitrocellulose lacquer is banned in California. So a lot of the guitars that Fender makes with Nitro finishes get shipped to Mexico for the finishing process.

I wasn't sure, but I thought it was worked out too.

I played the AC Jazz today, and Damn that Jazz plays fine. I may order the La Bella 750N strings just to keep until I want, or need to change out the ETB92 D'Addario Nylons. From what I've seen, and heard today, the ETB92's might be on the Jazz for quite a while. 8)

I wonder how much of a difference they might be? I've never seen any sort of nylon comparison video, like they've had for flats.

I can't remember seeing a video like that either.

That would be interesting to see, I think. At least it gives you an idea of any sound differences.

Depending on the strings, amp, etc. factored in also to the mix.

I guess using the same bass and amp with exactly the same settings does help with that. It must have been a pain in the arse to change out the strings all of those times to do the test, but they would have to.

Yeah,....... but you'd have to have some kind of standard to go by for the test. I don't think changing settings to drastically would show off the results that well.

It may be good however, just to someone a basic sound to hear. Better than nothing I guess.

I never really pay too much attention to them. But I really don't seek them out either.

You know, I still might try those nylons out some day. I'm thinking about those on the violin bass. It's not a Hofner, but it's close enough for that Paul McCartney tone that was on "Abbey Road," and "Let It Be." Of course, there's a million other factors involved, and I'm not him in the first place.

I honestly liked the Nylon sounds on the Epi. Even as poorly made as the Nylons I first used on the EKO were in 1969, they really sold me on the Nylon sound. Both the ETB92M's on the Epi, and the 760NHBB's on the Hofner are very good Nylons. On the AC Jazz, the ETB92's just don't stop sounding, and playing great. So much for my idea of changing out the D'Addario Nylons, to the La Bella Nylons for now, anyway. One of these days, I still may order a set of the 750N's, so I have them.
