I have a fretless Jaco Pastorius jazz bass. It came from the factory with the green strings. Which they are ok... But I do not know the size and the brand...

I would like to change my strings, but I do not know what kind of strings should I get.
I would like to get a good brand. What kind of strings is recommended for this bass?
I like skinny strings.

Can some one give me some feedback?

For a fretless, you'd probably be best going with either flatwound or nylons. The reason is with roundwound strings, they'll dig into your fretboard after awhile.

If you want the Jaco like Grrrrowl along with the famous fretless Mmmmmwah, you are going to want roundwounds. Jaco used Rotosound Swingbass 66. You can do just fine with any Fender or D'Addario stringset that gives you the light gauge you like. GHS Bass Boomers are extremely popular and come in light gauge. An excellent alternative between rounds and flats is GHS Pressurewound. Take your pick. I would avoid tapewound strings like the black plague itself. A nastier sounding good for nothing string has yet to be invented.

No comment after that totally useless post. Get what you want, and don't listen to any advice.
