The three I have are keepers. Everything is in place for once. 8)

I'm just interested to know if anyone else has acquired one of these Spl. Edition White Opal Jazz basses. It really does play nice. It's well worth the $600. I paid for it.

It worked out good that I had a Fender Jazz Tweed Case, that the White Opal fits right into.

Thanks, I like it. The White Opal is a perfect fit in it. Pretty good for an extra case. The tuning keys don't rub on the side of the cutout, when it's in the case. Normally a tweed case doesn't have a Fender Amp Badge attached. I had an extra one, so I mounted it. The screws are shot enough to not come through into the interior of the case.

That's a nice touch to it. 8) I wish I had some extra cash, I seriously need some cases for my basses. All I have is one case, which has been used for whatever my bass is at the time and it fits. The last one was the Schecter Jazz for the radio show I did last year. I really need a case for the violin bass. I know that one isn't going to cut it.

Yep. The Violin bass is a bit less damage free than the solid body bass. Some of the soft cases run almost the same, or higher in price than a hard shell case. I was just lucky that I kept the Jazz tweed case.

The place I got the bass has cases that are cheaper, but not cheap. The case for that particular bass is $65 there. I suppose that's even half the price of some cases, though. It's just a matter of getting the funds for it. I guess it's cheaper than a broken instrument, so I shouldn't complain too much.

Replacement cost may be more than you'd bargain for. Don't you get it at a really decent sale price?

Yeah, I did get it pretty cheap. It was $99.

A fantastic acquisition. Try to replace that same bass for the same price. And even if you could, you'd be out an additional $100. Buckeroos. That's about how much a Hofner case would run you, if your Violin would fit it.

Yeah, I figured as much. Hell, the Pyramid strings that come with them typical cost $60, which is over half the cost I paid for it.

Strings can be a back breaker in cost. I get a sale price on the ETB92 Nylons, at about $29.

Not too shabby for that type of string. Rounds seem to be the cheapest, I've noticed. I guess less goes into making those for production costs.

Rounds are pretty much the easiest of the strings to wind.
