Welcome to the club.

Nothing wrong with original. Both of my basses are.

Congrats on your new bass, you're gonna have to post some pics. Those are some nice basses. I really don't like white pickguards though, especially on a black bass, but that is just my opinion.

I don't think CrazyAaron triple 7 is going to post pic(s). Lots of people get on here with 1 post, ask questions, but never come back. Granted, I think CA777 was just excited he got a new bass on order.

I'm not big on the pickguard, I like my basses naked.

IMO that bass screams for a black pickguard on there. With the maple fretboard and black binding and markers, it just seems too perfect. To give you some ideas of various pickguards on the GL, here is a thread from another forum, "The Geddy Lee Jazz Club".

I hesitated on buying the bass only because it was black. I wouldnt feel comfortable with a black-on-black bass because all my basses stand out alot as compared to this one so I was thinking of putting a pearl white pickguard or buying a sunburst body and slapping the neck & electronics on there. What do you think?

Once you go black....anyway, to me having different looking/color basses is my goal. I'm sure that could change in time. Check thru that link from my earlier post, maybe there's one with a white pearloid pg to give you an idea. I'm just not crazy about black and white, but that's my opinion. What reason lead you to buy the GL? I ask cause you're talking about a new body. You dropped some cash for that bass, and now you're gonna change it around. I wouldn't swap the body, but that's just my opinion.
As far as my P-bass, read the story here.

I bought it because I absolutely love Rush and Ive been craving the sound and playability that Geddy gets and I had been wanting a Jazz bass so this bass fit the picture perfect
