I know that $@! Fenders are better than Mexi's, I've heard that they are close to American quality. Are the pickups in the Aerodyne (japanese) any better than the stock pickups in Mexi basses? Please tell me what you think.

I'm guessing S@! is CIJ...Anyways, CIJ basses are awesome as far as qc goes, very nice craftsmanship. I've not own a CIJ, but do own an MIJ. As far as that goes, I would put it against any '80 MIA as far as quality goes. I don't know about the pups tho, cuz mine originally had actives, but not the best. I've replaced them last year with EMG's.

Well I'm guessing that I can't use J A P on this website cuz I got bleeped, guess its politically incorrect. Anyway, is there a difference between CIJ and MIJ? The aerodyne is CIJ. Whats up wth this? Been playing Fenders forever and didn't know CIJ/MIJ. Don't get me wrong, I knew that there was Fender Japan. I just assumed that if it had Japan on it, it was made in Japan. Am I making sence? Anyway help me out with this one!

Differences are just that the MIJ switch to CIJ due to different companies owned rights in Japan while another company lost the rights. I'm Asian, not Japanese by any means, if $@! is what I think it is, it's not about being PC which I'm far from, but it is offensive to the Japanese American.

Thanks for the info. Didn't mean any offence, didn't even think anything of it. The Aerodyne sounds great, if I add american pickups it would sound even better. This guy has power. Thanks for the help!
