The funny thing about it is you don't even like Rush. It's just the guy's name on it, though. :P

I'd have the USA GL Jazz even if it was a Fender USA No Name, No Number Jazz. It's a Playing Monster. At least they put Geddy's signature on the back of the head, not on the front like the Adam Clayton has. Image

If it were a no name, you'd probably would have paid a couple of Franklins less for it, but I know what you mean.

I like the Black PG on both the Am. Std. ,and the USA GL. The Black PG didn't get my attention on the Spl. Edition, like the Black Moto PG does.

You have all of the pickguards replaced, don't you?

Maybe yes, and no. It has a basic custom shop works on it. I know what you're saying though about the sig., compared to the no name bass. The neck is a killer on it, to me it doesn't matter, sig., or no name my lead bass.

Come to think of it, yes I do. I have the original PG's tucked a way though.

I suppose you'd change them back if you were to get rid of a bass.

In all probability I'd go back to the original PG's. I like the Black Moto, and the other two Black PG's more than the two White Pearloid, and the Tort. It's pretty good looking Tort, well worth having on to in case I want to put it back on the Am. Std. Jazz.

Since the last post, I compared the Tort PG that was originally on the Am. Std., with the Black PG currently on it. As nice as the Tort is, there's something I like about the Black on the 3-Color Sunburst.

Either one works, I think. The only one I'm not too keen on is the white pickguard on the sunburst, which the Standard has. If I were to get a Standard, I'd definitely swap that out.

I agree with you about the White on the Sunburst too. When the Am. Pro Series came out, I was not to thrilled about seeing all of them come with a Parchment PG. I guess that's so Fender can make Buckeroos more on replacement PG's for them. I would venture to guess that the PG is the most changed out part on a new factory Fender Bass anyway. I did my Jazz PG's as soon as I had them home.

I don't mind the white pickguard on the red or blue basses, but for some reason it clashes too much with the sunburst. I guess it's just a matter of taste. I do like the black and tort ones, even that gold one can be cool, especially on the white or black basses. Then you can always get into the custom made stuff and have all kinds of stuff there. Hot Neon Pink? Sure, why not? :P

I guess I'm more conservative in my choices for PG's. The Black Moto is about a wild as I go. Pretty boring, right?

I wouldn't say that. You ever put that one on the sunburst to see what it looks like?

I did have the Black Moto PG on a 3-Color Sunburst Fretless for some time a year or so ago. It looked ok. I just prefer the Black PG more on the 3-Color Sunburst.
