That is a nice combo.

It's nice to get this Jazz back. I played it a bit today. The Super Bassman / Bassman brings out the good tones from it.

Yeah, they aren't going to make any more of that particular model, as well.

That's true. I don't know if I'd like the new higher, thinner frets on them either. I do like the lower, jumbo frets on the Am. Std.

Higher frets? I wonder how that's going to play out? I guess there be only one way to find out when they come out and in stock. Of course, they want a few more coin for them, too.

Yeah, makes you wonder if that was the motivation in dropping one and putting out another, instead of noticeably jacking up the price on the first one.

Looks that way doesn't it. A new series to justify the price increase.

The Am. Std. Jazz played great through the Fender / Ampeg today. A good Jazz sound.

How do you usually split the time between the basses? One each day?

I'm doing that since it's a new amp setup. Once I got that out of my system, it just comes down to which everyone I feel like playing. I'm not complaining about making the choice between the three.

Is there much of a tonal difference between the different Jazzes and your amp settings? Do you have a fixed setting for your amp, or do you have to tweak knobs for each bass?

About the only setting on the amp that may get reset, is the Bass pull for Deeper Bass. Other than that, I let the minor differences of each Jazz do it's thing, and set onboard pre Jazz.

One thing that is nice, all three are Jazzes, so the necks are similar. Other than the USA Geddy Lee's neck being a bit more altered in shape.

In what way is that?

The USAGL Jazz has a thicker neck, that has the crown of the neck sanded down, so it's a bit flatter. It's smooth, and pretty fast, a great feel to it too.
