I meant the pick guards, but it seems like the Pro series aren't justifying their prices, are they?

The PG's are the same as the Am. Std. PG's. So there isn't a quality problem, just that all of the Pro Series have the same Parchment color. At least the Am. Std.'s had some options from the factory. A hundred Buckeroos more, I don't see it. I don't know how the sales are going on the Pro Series, but I'm out of the interest on them.

I still don't see why they couldn't keep the Am. Std. with the changes, or in their eyes, upgrades. They did it before when they went from Alnico pups, to CS60's.

At least the 3-Color Sunburst came with a Tort PG. But I do like the Black PG on my Am. Std. instead.

Probably some "corporate decision," I'm sure. :P

Who's running the corporate now at Fender?

I have no idea. I'm not sure if they were bought out again or not.

I don't think they were bought out. Didn't they do something Bono, and another player sitting on the board though?

Yeah, as consultants or something like that. I have no idea. I think it was The Edge along with him. I know they have an artist model of his Strat now. I've never seen Bono play anything other than a Gretsch, but that doesn't mean he hasn't. I think Fender owns Gretsch, anyway. They did, at least.

Yeah, I think Fender owned a lot of other brand names at one time or another. Like CBS did.

I played the USA GL first today, then the Am. Std. They both played better than what I remembered. I'm getting back there.
