Hi --

I have a MIM 5-String Jazz Bass and I would like to convert it to a fretless, but I can't find a suitable neck anywhere. Has Fender ever made a fretless 5-string Jazz neck?

Thanks!

A Warmoth or USACG neck wont fit? I guess the other option is to yank 'em out yourself.

I removed the frets from an otherwise unremarkable 2000 MIM Jazz Five. It actually turned out rather nice. I added Nordstrand pups and 2-band active pre and it sounds really good.

I didn't actually do the work, a local tech removed the frets and filled the slots with a maple solid wood filler.
