Those SVT weigh in at 80 plus pounds, just sitting.

I ran the USA GL Jazz through the Fender / Hartke setup, today. The other two basses sounded good through the
SB / HD115. But the USA GL Jazz kicked in the door! That Jazz has a Mountain of sound, the other two don't quite have. Incredible low bass sounds, and a power volume that is astonishing! I really had to tone the settings on the bass down. The GL is still the top bass here. ImageImage

I'm surprised it didn't take his arm off.

It does pick up a bit of energy falling. That silly gravity thing, and all.

Sounds pretty good, then. 8) I'll bet if you wanted to, especially with that Jazz, and that cab, you could also dial in a good midrange growl with that set up. You know, you've got me GASing for a Hartke cab now, which sucks, because I'd be lucky if I could finagle that in my current situation. :P Who knows, I didn't expect to ever get rid of the Orange and wind up with an Ampeg, so I suppose anything is possible down the line.

I'm not trying to brag, or anything like that. Or tying to get ya' to go for the Hartke, but I can't believe the way the HyDrive series brings out the sounds. I had the SB at the regular settings the other day, and nudged, the volume up a bit on the GL Jazz. The HD115 didn't breath hard at all. This old Roadie can't believe after all the swapping of gear, I matched up this combination. I still have players asking about the ins, and outs of it. The HD115 is what made the difference. An Official Road Rex Approved setup. A 500 Watts 15" cab is damn different as well. Image

I imagine the aluminum adds to the clarity and punch, as well. I do remember those 4 x 10" aluminum cabs having that, and that always stuck with me. The only thing is that particular cab is at least 88 pounds, which is 23 pounds extra than what I'm hauling now. The HyDrive 4 x 10" cab is 70 pounds, which means they shaved off 18 pounds somewhere. Maybe the speakers are lighter, because they are mixed material?

They're also 1000 watts, compared to the all aluminum speaker's 400 watts, but then again, you can buy two of the aluminum speaker cabs for what one HyDrive costs, and be at 4 ohms, if that matters. That is something though that your 15" handles 500 watts. You don't see that too much. Usually, they're 300 or 400 watts, for the most part, sometimes even less than that, but not so much these days. I remember when 100 watts was often the case, but you also didn't have 800 or 1000 watt bass amps, either.

This afternoon I started playing the Spl. Edition. Dlx. PJ, for a bit. Then for some reason, I had to hear the GL Jazz, while the sound of the Dlx. PJ was still in my head. I started to play the Jazz, and that was the sound I prefer between the two. The GL Jazz is still the top dog. Can't beat that Jazz.

Yep. 300 - 350 Watts is about an average for a 115 cab. Weight wise, the HD115 weighs in at, 51 pounds. The 115 Neo weighs in at, 54 pounds.
I still like the dimensions of the HD115, being 24" x 24" x 15". It's identical in size to the HD410.
The 115 Neo is, 26" x 20.75" x 16.25". The 410 Neo is, 26" x 24.5" x 16.25".
In cubic inches, the HD115 is 63 cubic inches, as compared to the 115 Neo at 73 cubic inches. Very close in size, but there's just something I like about the overall sounds of the HD115. It must be the HyDrive speaker. Image

Those are some nice specs for that speaker. 8) If I could get one of those cabs, I'd want to get the 15" one, too. Sure, the 4 x 10" cab handles 1000 watts, but the Ampeg is only putting 400 watts into at 8 ohms, anyway. Plus, that 4 x 10" cab costs an extra $100, and probably weighs more, too. Besides, I think that 15" would pair nicely with the Ampeg, and the Precision pickup on my Ibanez.

And like we talked about, the HD115 is 500 Watts. So there's a little room to play on the Wattage. The HD410 is 63 pounds. 51 Pounds for the HD115.

12 extra pounds difference. Might not seem like much, but if you have to haul it around a lot, sometimes that can make a difference. The HyDrive 4 x 10" is about the same weight as my cab, though.

That's about an average for a non-Neo 410 cab.
