Wow, those 8 x 10" cabs look puny in comparison.

I'm trying to remember what his array were. I think it was 2 8x10, 2 4x15, and 2 4x18.

That would take a minute or two to move.

His recording chain is even more insane since that Star Bass has 4 pickups each with it's own output effect chain and amp. One pickup is run dry but they all running 2 tracks one direct and one miked. He said that when he first started doing it engineers would throw their hands in the air and walk out. Now they look forward to seeing what he's going to do.

Yeah, no joke. It's kind of frightening to see bass cabs that dwarf an 8 x 10" cab. You could move into it like a studio apartment. :P

I know. I've heard you could measure the amount of effects he has going in feet, as well.

Yeah. But it's Bootsy baby. If you look at his full career it's easy to find something to love.

I had a feeling it would be. You know, I've been thinking more about Jazz Basses, lately. I've been playing a lot with the Squier Jazz, and I've noticed Fender has some new ones out and about. I also used it on a recording on the upcoming EP, and it does sound pretty damned good. 8)

Paul, you know I'm not surprised to hear that about a Jazz. I just like Jazzes, they suit me well.

I guess time will tell if I do go that direction again. I really need to plug it into the Ampeg and see how it sounds.

Not a bad Idea. Jazzes play well through so many different amps. That's where the personal preference sound works into place.

You know, I'm going to go upstairs and grab that bass today. I think it's time to see what's what.

There you go, good move! Play it through you serious amp. Most important, listen to what your Jazz is telling you. Jazzes are great conversationalists. My USA GL is back to "Electric Lady".

Well, I did play it through the Fender, but I didn't hook up the Ampeg. Either way, it's actually been a long time since it's even been plugged in to begin with.
