Wow, it only was on for a year originally? It seems like they had a lot more shows than that.

Don't forget, it wasn't unusual for TV show back then to turn out a show a week from about the first week in Sept., to April, or may. Break for the Summer, and start all over again in Sept. Maybe reruns in the Summer. Example, Star Trek in three years did 79 episodes. Before NBC dropped the show.

That's true. They did things like that back then. Did you ever actually watch "Star Trek" when it originally aired, or just when it went into syndication?

It was slightly before I was born, so I missed out of it until at least the mid 70's. My earliest childhood memory of TV was probably when I was 4, which was 1975 to 1976, and I'm pretty sure I watched it then. I do remember the Star Trek cartoon, and vaguely remember "Space: 1999." Then there was the Batman show from the 60's, and all of the cop and detective stuff, like "S.W.A.T." and "Vega$. ' "Emercency!" and "Starsky And Hutch." There seemed to be a lot of those shows back then. My life was a Quinn Martin production. :P

I have to say, they had some cool TV shows in the 60's and 70's.

I've noticed that, especially with a lot of shows out now.

It seems like a TV show plays for 6 - 8 episodes, then has it's season finale. BFD!

That's true. The "Walking Dead" has been like that, as an example. Other than travel, hobby, and cooking shows PBS, RFD, and an occasional movie, that was pretty much the only "new" show I've watched in the past couple of years. Although, I did watch the remake of "Hawaii Five 0" and"NCIS" for awhile there, and shows related to it, but I haven't in a while. There was Anthony Bourdain's show, but he just committed suicide, so unfortunately that ends that.

I really don't watch a lot of TV these days, unless I'm in bed, or I'll catch a movie that I want to watch, and I'll sit on the couch and noodle along with a bass at the same time. I'm actually glad we finally got a DVR, so I can record a lot of stuff and catch it when I get a chance. I used to have to have to program an old school VCR, and although that worked rather well, I missed a lot of stuff, or I couldn't watch something while taping something else. Plus, I only had 6 hours to work with, and I'd better get the time right to program it. With the DVR, you can go ahead and set it and forget it. It programs everything for you way ahead of time, and you don't have to try and keep in check. Plus, you don't have to decide what you have to give up to tape because you don't have enough space, you can record everything. Pretty cool tech. 8)

Yeah,........ the DVR is better for us than the VCR was. My wife can actually use it without bugging me about how to record a show. I like to have the TV muted as Play along to music on my iTunes. I see The Last Ship TV show is coming back on in September.

Yeah, if I decide to get into another show to watch, I don't have to worry about missing it, and I can watch it any time I want to. I've seen a couple of commercials for that "Last Ship" show. I never got any chance to watch it, since it also came out before we got the DVR. I just looked it up on Wikipedia, and it looks like something that might be interesting, a sort of post apocalyptic kind of thing, although it's been on for going on 5 seasons, and out for a few years. I might be too late to the party, unless they happen to repeat the earlier episodes, or is it something that's easy just to follow along? They do have the plots of the episodes listed on the Wiki, so I could catch up that way, if I decide to look into it.

That can be a problem with weekly episodes, and the writers keeping it interesting enough so people keep watching the show.

Yeah, bad writing can kill a show pretty quick.
