True, you didn't. There was Triaxe, but you decided not to use it. I've had a few, too. :P

I did like that one, but it really didn't apply to much. What were some of the ones you didn't use?

I had one called Ellis Dee that I had made, that I think I never used. The others I did, but deleted and came back and made another one. If I left here for awhile, I won't delete this account like I did in the past. I guess I didn't think I was going to come back at the time, but you know how that goes. :P

Been there myself.

Yeah, all of those are deleted now, even though the posts remain. Originally, when you deleted an account around here, the posts would get deleted, too.

I don't remember that.

It was quite a few years ago, before they changed the website a couple of times. Maybe even ten years or more. 2006 was ten years ago, believe it or not. :P

I was able to play the Am. Std., and GL today to compare sounds. The Am. Std. has bit of a brighter tone to it. The GL is a tone to it. I pulled the bass knob on the amp to give the Am. Std. more bottom. That worked well, but the GL is still a bit of a lower tone. It's nice to have the a bit of different tone in the two Jazzes. The American Vintage ’70s Lee pups do sound great on the GL!

Sounds good. Have you ever compared the specs between the two?

Just the basics between the two. I haven't gotten into the specs on the pots, etc. As much as I like the Am. Std., I like the Geddy Lee for that late 60's hard rock sound. Dickie Peterson would've liked this one.

You ever try out any of those vintage reissues, like the American Vintage '64 or '74? I know they cost more, but for the hell of it. I'd be curious about the '64, but I'm just as likely to check out those MIM 60's reissue Jazz Basses, too.

No I haven't. The 7.25", or 7.50" radius fretboards don't play well with me. I do much better with flatter boards. 9.5", Or flatter I like. One of the first things I try to remember to do is find out the radius of a bass.

Yeah, I would see your point if you don't like that radius. It wouldn't be "vintage" if they had other than the original radius, I suppose. Come to think about that, I was messing around with some of the basses earlier (just picked them up for a minute or so) and I found myself faster on the Ibanez, which has a flat radius, compared to the Fender P Bass Lyte, which has a Jazz neck on it. It could be because I'm more use to the Schecter now (I use to find the Ibanez kind of awkward when I used the Fender,) so that could be a factor. Although, I'm pretty good with the Squier Jazz, but the neck is actually a little different on that one, and the action might be lower.

I may have trouble with a more curved board, because of having short fingers. When I reach across to get the E string, I sometimes rub across the G, D, A, when further down the neck as it widens.
