You'd think they'd want their products in as many places as possible to sell more of them, but perhaps it doesn't work that way logistically. Competition with itself, maybe?
Their dealers will not continue to be dealers if they can't sell enough product to make it worth being a dealer.
They want to sell as much as they can, but they understand that a given market area can only generate enough sales to support 3, 2, 1 or no stores... keeping in mind that used examples are occasionally available at non-dealers.
Manufacturers require a certain number of units to be purchased by the dealers each year. If they don't sell, the dealership is at risk (not to mention having 10-20 thousand tied up in inventory that's not moving).

Might have been a different story in 2005, but many industries have not recovered from the 2008 crash. The custom chopper market is gone for good, at least as far as there being a dozen manufacturers in the same county.

Yeah, that makes sense. Instruments aren't exactly something that's going to be selling like clothing and groceries, either. Sometimes, you could even have gear hanging in a shop for years.

That does happen in some local shops in my area.

I actually played the GL today. It was a good reminder for me why I acquired it in the first place. I'm not going to go into big details on it, but it sure has the easy playing, and the sound that like I said in the past, I do believe it's the best Jazz bass Fender makes. The pups do roar on it. The 70's pups are some nice Fender pups.

You like them better than the 60's ones, or about the same?

I like them better than the CS60's that were on the Am. Std.'s.

The USA GL Jazz is sporting a Black PG again.

Not really tired of the Black Moto on the USA GL, I like the looks of the Black PG on the Black body.

I really like that black Moto on the black body.
It's got me on the edge of buying a black Squier 70s just to add that.
Just thinking of something to noodle on that's better than my '95-ish Memphis P/J

That would look good. The Black Moto does look good on a black body.

It wasn't even that loud since the wife was home while playing the GL. But I could hear the power pounding at a low volume even. The 15" Neo is sounding as it's broken in. I can see how 2X15's would be a Mountain of Sound.
