Pretty decent price. 8) Certainly cheaper than a lot of what cases cost, but then again, you also have that level of protection to consider.

The Mustang in the gig bag just stays in the closet, until it gets played. I have the bag tied in so it won't fall over. For it's purpose I use it for, it's ok. You may need something a bit heavier for transportation purposes. You really have to see one to judge for yourself. I bought it because the hard shell case is about $208.00.

I can see why you didn't get one, then.

Someday I may get a hard shell case, or an upgraded soft hard shell bag. Gator has a decent one. I don't know the price on one though.

It seems like the short scale ones, or ones that aren't catered to fit a Jazz or Precision Bass, are more expensive, or harder to find, too. You can get a hard case that will fit a Jazz or Precision pretty much anywhere, and for pretty cheap. I suppose the reason for that is they are copied so much by everyone and their siblings.

Yep. Jazzes, and Precisions are I guess the most copied. For me, if it isn't a Fender, or Squier, it's not a Jazz, or a Precision. Just a copy of the real thing.

That's true, although I have come across some really decent copies of them. My Schecter was actually a nice bass, but I wound up wanting something lighter and a different neck feel.

Schecter does turn out a decent bass. I thought the necks felt really good.

I forgot about G&L Jazzes, and Precisions being real Fender design's Also.

Yeah, G&L pretty much are or were a continuation of where he left off with Fender. It's funny how in some ways they don't have the notoriety that Fender does. I guess that all has to do with advertising and brand familiarity.

Some of it has to do with local dealers that carry, or deal with G&L's.

Yeah, I remember when I lived in Florida, it wasn't a common brand to find around the shops. I remember at least one shop had them, maybe two, and there were quite a few shops around back then. Fenders were all over the place, sans maybe a couple of shops, one of which carried Ampeg. It's all distribution deal B.S. from what I remember some of the people that worked in those shops often told me when I asked about it.

Pretty much the bottom line it. Pay me the money to be a dealer of a certain brand, and or you can't sell this brand in your store, and that brand also. FBS!!!

There was something to do with distance, or how many stores in one area, and those products within that area. I forget, really. It's been a very long time since I had that conversation, and I don't know if anything has changed in this day and age of the internet.

That's almost the way food franchises work as well.

You'd think they'd want their products in as many places as possible to sell more of them, but perhaps it doesn't work that way logistically. Competition with itself, maybe?

Your guess is as good as mine on that one.
