No, that was the first amp I made with the Traynor head. My first bass amp I used, was a Kent Combo 2X12. That was 1968. I don't remember the wattage, or the brand of the 12's in it. The cab I made with the Jensen 12's, was over built. I could've used 15's in it, and had room to spare.

It did look like that, but I think it had more power than 18 watts. An it may have been black. For all I know it was refinished. I got it used from a friend. It was an all tube 60's something 2X12 combo like that though.

I know in the UK back then they'd paint those amps black that weren't black in the first place, for fashion purposes. I'll bet that was the same thing.

It didn't have the original grill cloth on it either by the time I bought it. But the photo you found of that 2X12 Kent Combo I believe was the series it was. Just not the 18 watts.

The other two basses sound good through the Ampeg. But the GL is Right On! As we said in the 60's. I shouldn't have bought it, but I'm glad I did. If that makes any sense.

I've heard that expression before, but not in the 60's, since I didn't exist, except in the ether. :P I know you've always liked the way those Geddy Lee basses played the best, since I've known you to have them.

I liked the MIM GL Jazzes, until I played a USA GL at the local SA. That really put a burn into me more than another bass I've ever played. At the time, I thought the Ricks were pretty much the top of the playing neck. That changed when I played that USA GL in the store. The special voiced 70's pups on the USA GL are fantastic too. It's just a Monster Bass. I have to give it to Fender on this one.

I may be able to actually play the USA GL Jazz tomorrow. Maybe. I hope, I hope, I hope!

About the same thing going on here as well. The high point of my day today dealing with one of the basses was, the Fender Urban Short Scale Gig Bass showed up today. I had the time to put the Mustang PJ into it. That was about it.

The Fender Urban Short Scale Gig Bass for the Mustang PJ is $34.99. @ Sweetwater. That's about $10.00 less than Sam Ash prices them out at. It's not a bad gig bag for the price. The Mustang PJ fits in it very well. Two outer pockets, and shoulder straps.

Pretty decent price. 8) Certainly cheaper than a lot of what cases cost, but then again, you also have that level of protection to consider.
