It's nice to get everything I like in a package like that. Plus the PJ ta' boot. With the Jazz neck, and the Precision body, I'd like it just with a Precision pup, so the PJ is a good add own to it. The Mustang PJ will make me one up on PJ's. Pretty good, and it's not even Christmas.

Well, it's almost Halloween. That's kind of Christmas for the freaks. :P

So true. Some folks decorate their houses more for Halloween than Christmas.

I like it. I've been wanting to do some sort of gig or something for Halloween, but so far, we haven't been able to or ready to do something like that. I remember playing a block party show, years ago in Florida, for the 4th of July and they sent off fire works afterwards, which are loud as hell when you're only a few feet away from them.

Yeah, that was about the only time I've ever done that, that I remember. It seems like I'm usually inactive for things like that, but not intentionally. You kind of have to have something going on, especially with some sort of band or group to actually perform something. I don't think people would be too interested in me noodling along on a bass by myself for a show. :P Maybe if I could have sang and had songs I could have pulled it off. You know, put a bunch of distortion and/or effects on the bass to make it sound more guitar like, that might work.

True. You know, one of my favorite gigs I ever played, was a house party that I played in St. Pete with my old band. We were going to try out a drummer, that was friends with the house owner, and we went over there and wound up jamming with a bunch of people around. The cool thing is the guy had a full bar, Porterhouse steaks, a couple of whole hogs on a smoker, and whatever else they had cooked up. It was free for us, plus they even threw in a few bucks in tips. I'd say I ate pretty good, got a good buzz, and had fun playing music. I'd say that was a good gig.

Yeah, it was pretty fun, even though the band didn't last. Then again, you're lucky to even be in one that does. :P

I know how that goes with bands, here, and there. Gone.

When was the last time you were in a band?

It was 1972. I've jammed with others, and sat in on studio work. I was at a get together, a few years ago, and my work in a song was being played. This younger guitar player mentioned to his drummer in their band, something like, listen to this bass guy. That's the sound I want to get for us. I just nodded to my friend, and had another Jack&Coke.

So you were pretty much in a band when I was new born. :P Did you get the roadie gig after that? I imagine when you were busy with that, you probably didn't have time for a band, anyway.

We call Jack and Coke "Music Juice." :P Although, I haven't had any in a few years, since it costs too damned much for a 2.75 liter bottle around these parts, I have to stick with cheaper stuff, but not rotgut. At least what I do drink doesn't come in a plastic bottle. :P Most of the time, it's Russian vodka, anyway. It's a heritage thing, I suppose.
