Howdy! I've been crazy as usual. Hardly playing at all, though. Soon, however, I'll get back to it. :D

Be good, and if you can't be good, be sure to come and get me!

I remember the last time I talked to you that you were crazy busy with your job and that's why you've avoided using the computer a lot. Hopefully, you'll get time to play again. I know it sucks when you can't.By the way, I haven't seen Glenn around here in a few days. The last thing he said is he had to go to the ER because of pneumonia. Hopefully, he's OK.

I'm alive and doing better, by the Grace of God. Things were really going down hill fast for a couple of weeks there. A lung operation turned from an hour, and a half, to a three hour one that was not going very well for a bit. I got through it ok though. Oh well.

That's good that you are. Was this something that has been effecting you for a long time and finally catch up to you?

Hi Paul, no it came on me very quickly. I bent over to pick up the dogs' plates after feeding them breakfast. When I stood up everything went really bad. Back muscle spams, and couldn't breathe. it's a long complicated story after that. My right lung collapsed, and had heavy fluids that had to taken out by surgery. They cut out my 5th rib during the operation. Three hours later, done. I'm doing better, but it was a touch, and go for a while, from what they told my wife, and I.

I guess you never know when something can come up on you and knock you on your arse. That's what happened to my dad when he had his stroke. Although, he's had some health issues, prior. If my sister wasn't with him when it happened, it would have been most likely it for him. She was a paramedic when we lived in Virginia back in the 70'a (60's, as well, before I was born,) and I'm sure she still has retained some of that training, I'm sure.

Any little bit helps in a stroke situation.

The local paramedics here were very good. No complaints here.

Fortunately, I can say that I haven't required their assistance. Hopefully, that will remain the case.

Hopefully you won't, but it's good to know they're around.

It's really a drag not being able to play for a while.

I'm going to give it a try, just hoping it doesn't stress the rib area. It may not.

I wonder if you still had the Hofner if that would have been easier on you because of it's smaller size and weight? I know the neck is pretty narrow on those, if they're anything like their copies are like. I finally got use to that, though.

It would have been lighter, about half of my average Jazz's weight. But the 500/1 Hofner's nut is 1.654, about as wide as a Precision's. As far as my playing comfort overall, I'm very spoiled to play a Jazz.

Wow, the Hofner has a wide neck on it like a P-Bass? I never would have thought that, if that's what you mean.
