Sometimes it takes a while.

Sometimes I wonder if we've had the one and let it go, as well. I'm sure I have a few times. :P

I've had several that I probably should've hung on to. But I have no regrets, because I have the ones I have now, and they suit me more than just fine. I'm doing ok. Image

Yeah, there's really no point in regretting those things, unless you have a time machine. If I did, it wouldn't certainly be used for the purpose of getting back gear that's gone, that's for sure.

The gear that I had is ancient history now. Funny how I did mange to reacquire some, and other than the Spl. Ed. White Opal, sold it off.

Yeah, I remember a few of those you had and got back, like that one that was in the back of the store in a case.

That was the Olympic White Am. Std. Precision, nice but I don't miss it.

Yeah. I guess they aren't making those anymore, anyway.

True, but I have the Am. Std. Jazz, and that's more my of style of a bass.

I was going to play the Am. Std. today, but the USA GL called me. I played it instead of the Am. Std. This Jazz has a thunderous tone. You really should try one if you see one around. My lead bass now.

So what would your order be with the basses? Obviously, the Geddy Lee is number 1.

1. USA GL, 2. Am. Std., 3. Spl. Edition White Opal. One of these days, I may do another Olympic White Mustang PJ. That probably won't be for some time. A long time.

You ever play around with one of those Dimension basses? http://shop.fender.com/en-US/electric-b ... ric-basses

I thought the original Modern Player one was pretty cool with that 3-way pickup, which they didn't carry on with the newer MIM passive (like the one I linked here,) or the active MIA models. I would have gotten one the time I got the Schecter, since it had more than 20 frets, but I was pissed at Fender at the time, because of that whole thing with the Squier Bass VI.

No,........ I never did. Kinda' the same way I don't mess with 5 string basses. I can get into enough trouble all by myself, with 4 strings, 2 volume controls, and a tune control. And, a strap, instrument cord, and an amp.

I never tried one, either. As for 5-strings, the last time I tried to play one I didn't even have 10 years experience yet, so I might not have had the dexterity to handle the extra width and string. I might be able to play one now, bt I'm sure I'd have to put some time in with it to get comfortable with it. Then again, I had to do the same thing with the violin bass, with it having smaller real estate. Now, I'm good with it, I think. I can see where I could utilize a 5-string, especially since I also have an 18" speaker for that low B. It's nothing that's on the top of my list right now, though. Maybe if I even manage to go into a shop and they have one around that I could try out, that sort of thing, to see if I like it.
