Yeah, I suppose they could be one of the parts most susceptible to damage.

The connection prong on the jack, has an inward tilt, so every time an instrument jack is inserted, it's pushed away from inward tilt. It get's bent a bit, fatigued, and fails.

Yeah, probably not the strongest part on there, too.

It can be one of the easiest made parts manufactured cheaply.

True. There doesn't seem to be a lot to it.

There really isn't, and the prime part of the jack is just a bent piece of light metal.

The output jack is probably the most forgotten part on an electric bass, guitar. A few years ago, the Monster brand instrument cords were tearing up output jacks, because the were bit on the wide size, and a bit too long in length.

I use the Samson Tourtek cords. They work.

I've seen those online at Sam Ash and I think AMS. They work pretty good then?

They work fine. I use the cord with the 90 degree jack on one end. I don't like the long jack sticking up from the body.

I've been using Planet Waves cables, but I did have one of them crap out on me with minimal use that was in the studio, which doesn't help in making me want to be loyal to the brand.

I'm always stepping on mine, and they're ok for a good while.

You know, that reminds me that getting a cable tester would be a good idea. I got a bunch of cables and who knows how many of them even still work., other than plugging them into an amp. You ever use one of those?
