Cool, you got it. 8) My order was processed today, but I don't know if it was shipped yet or not. As soon as I get it, I'll post pics and all of that jazz. I might have to wait to get some flats for it, though. Money's a little tight right now for even strings. I was lucky I was able to get that bass when I did. The discount definitely helped with that. Another thing I'll need to get is the case for it, especially for gigging. I'll be pushing my luck if I don't, I think. They're $65 on the site, so not exactly cheap, but not as expensive as most other cases I've seen.

A case is a really good idea for any Axe used in gigs. Gig bags just don't give the overall protection, weather it's a hollow body, or solid body. When I bought my first Gibson EB-0, it came without a case. The case was pretty damn expensive back then. So I found a cheap case it kinda' fit in, and wrapped it in towels to take up the open space in the case. It worked, the head never broke from the neck.

Hey, whatever works. I remember my first case that I got was one those chipboard cases, which I suppose was somewhere between a hard case and gig big. Better than nothing, though.

I was playing some Beatles with the GL today. It sounds good. "With A Little Help from My Friends", has those great thump tones from the Nylons on the GL. I appreciate the Hartke KB15, the more I play throughout too. The 15" gets my attention. Image

You know, he actually used a Jazz Bass on the "White Album" and "Abbey Road," I do believe. I'm not sure about the nylons on it, though. I've seen those on his Hofner when they were doing "Let It Be."

I'm not sure either, but my Nylons do give me that sound on the GL.

I only found a couple of pics with them using a Jazz, and it didn't look like they had nylons on it, so who knows?

He was on, and off from what I heard about Nylons.

I kept the USA GL Jazz over the Adam Clayton, and the Fretless Jazzes. I always said, If I were to have one Jazz, it would be the USA GL Jazz. Nothing wrong with the others, I just prefer the USA GL Jazz.

So you decided to get rid of the fretless after all, then?

Yep. I just decided one short scale, and one long scale is enough. For years I did fine with one bass only. I'm not playing on the road, and if I do a studio thing, the two I have will work. It's just more simple this way.

Yeah, I can understand that. Since my girlfriend is happy with how the violin bass sounds and plays, I can just use that if I want. She wants to get another one for herself (she plays as well, besides singing and a multitude of other instruments,) so we might have one with flats on it and the other one with rounds, since she likes the sound of the rounds on it. If I'm doing rounds, it's definitely going to be Rotos Swing Bass 66's (they have them in different scales,) because that's the roundwound sound I like. The Ox was the one who helped designed them, so there you go.

I think it's great you guys will do a bass for each of you. Strings are an individual sound, and feel. There sure are enough varieties on the market too. It's almost the best thing to order on line, and order two sets, one as a backup just so you have them.

I can do fine without the Fretless, the GL is that good. For me anyway. Image

I know what you mean, I have a few basses that are just sitting around right now collecting dust. Although, a couple of them do need to be fixed.
