How closely replicated are the stock pickups in a Geddy Lee signature Jazz Bass CIJ?

I want my GL to sound almost like a real '72 so I got some AVRI 74 pickups but the AVRIs are disappointing me with less bottom end than the stock ones.

Having built a couple of Jazz Basses, I can tell you that the CS 62 pickups sound closer to the prototypical JB vibe (both late '60s and early '70s) than anything else I've heard. One of those basses was a gift to my brother who owns a CIJ Geddy Lee and his observations are that the bass I built for him sounds more like GL than his "official" GL signature bass.

I recently installed some AVRI 74s into my GL and they sound disappointing. I prefer the stock pickups but I want your input on the 74s if you have any?

I have a 2006 CIJ Geddy Lee Jazz bass
These basses have Standard Fender
Vintage Jass bass pickups in them as the MIM Marcus Miller Jazz bass & the USA Jaco Fretless Jazz bass .. I personally like these pickups.
IMO there is also playing technique & Geddies Sansamp RBI settings etc...
That play a part in achiving his tone/sound.

The signature basses are a little more mid-rangey to me then my actual 72 jazz. Nice basses overall but really just a distant cousin of the original.
