I have a couple Fender Jazz basses and can't seem to find any that don't have or develope a dead spot between the 4 and 7th fret. It's usually on the G string. I've tried just about every bass I can find in various shops and they all seem to have the same issue. It can usually be fixed with a Fat Finger but I'd rather not have to use that on a bass in this price range. Has anyone else had the same issues or have any advice? Thanks.

you could also try the "Fat Finger" from groove tubes
