Yeah, you never know what might come up with that. I know you've favored Jazz Basses the most. The Talman necks are pretty thin, but the CT series bass is even flatter than that one. They don't make them anymore, though, and only did for a year.

I'm going to work with the Jazz, and see hoe it goes without driving myself bonkers considering other bass options at this time. The thing that is the kicker about this Jazz, it sounds, and plays so good. The HD75 agrees with the Jazz. I don't know how the Epi EB-3 would do going through the HD75.

I suppose the one way to find out is to try it out, but what are the pros and cons of either bass. I guess the main one with the Jazz is the weight. I don't really know much about the Epiphone EB-3, but I have played on the EB-0 short scale. That thing was really light. I've been bummed out from time to time thinking about it because I didn't get it because of some tuner issue that probably would have been easier to remedy than the issues I had with the Peavey I got instead. Then again, I didn't know better at the time.

I'm tying to stay with a long scale. If it weren't for that, an EB-0 would be ok.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I'm still pretty partial to the short scales, but sometimes I do think about going back to the long scale basses, as well. I guess there's pros and cons to them both.

The trouble I have with short scale anymore, I'm just getting more comfortable with my fingers having a bit more room to move around on the board. A little cleaner, not getting fumbled up. You'd think my short fingers would do better on a 30", over a 34". If I do drop the Jazz, the Epi EB-3 would be the front runner to replace the Jazz.

Is that a much lighter bass?

The average weight of an Epi EB-3 is about 1.5, to 2 pounds. I'm pretty much going to start things in motion for acquiring an EB-3. The Jazz isn't getting any lighter. I'll see what happens a bit later today. So far the different strap isn't doing anything. I hope the EB-3 will hang in a more supported position, because of it's strap button location, and body design.

Yeah, Fenders can be on the beefy side, with the weight, although that Peavey Zodiac is heavier than the Squier Jazz we have. I'm not sure what the Ibanez weighs, although my short scale Talman is relatively light, but it has a smaller neck.

I'm not sure how your Talman is, but the ones listed are Poplar bodies in place of Alder, and I think ash. Somewhere along the way Poplar replaced the other two body materials. The Talman also has a bit of a more curve to the radius. Fender is 9.5", and the Talman is 9.4". So slight it's probably not even felt when playing. I don't think I'd notice the difference.

It's better for me to keep the Jazz, and see what I can do to deal with the weight it, at least for now. In the meantime, I'm going to check out some alternatives if I can't work with the Jazz.

The Epi EB-3 does feel more comfortable than the my Jazz, so I turned it in for an Epi EB-3 Ebony.

I noticed you started a new thread about it, so I'll respond there.

Yeah, it's probably been changed who knows how many times? I guess you'd have to even go back to the first page to even see what it started out as. I'm sure it was some sort of Jazz Bass, since it is in this particular forum.

Yeah, something like that. It started out with the 3-Color Sunburst, Am. Pro. Fretless Jazz

Oh yeah, I remember that one. They don't even make them anymore, do they?

3-Color Sunburst, Black, and Sonic Gray are shown as the current finishes for the fretless Am. Pro. Jazzes.
